Many different people had visited the Open Doors fair for education abroad that was held at the Radisson Blu grand hotel in Sofia on 27th and 28th of October 2007. Some gather information about opportunities for study abroad, others came for a specific purpose - to clarify requirements and application procedures presented in foreign schools, and others waiting in line for your personal interview with the representative of the chosen university.

The increased interest in the Coventry University programmes this year was provoked by the last list of Guardin Unlimited. According to it, the subject “Economics” is taking 13th place in the list of best British universities. This result is not random, but a result of the big investment and hard work of the Economics department of the university. Today the students have very modern facilities, extensive library (winner of the award for the Royal University Library) and many opportunities for practical training in real working environment - one of the main advantages of British education, according to Bulgarian students studying in Britain.

Another of the best Bristish universities - "Bedfordshire University" had its representatives in Sofia. Ranked number three in 2007. degree in "Communications", the University offers its students a very dynamic academic environment in its three campuses located in close proximity to London. One of the most characteristic features of the university as a whole are traditional contacts with over 5,000 British and foreign companies and continued efforts to accredit more university courses from the relevant professional organizations.

The formal membership of Bulgaria in the European Union led to tangible changes in the rules for application in European universities. The removal of visa restrictions, the drastic reduction in tuition fees, opportunities for scholarships and student loans are among the main factors that led to a significant increase in the number of Bulgarian students studying in various European countries.

Traditionally, at the fair were participating English boarding schools, like Caterham School, Sherborne International College, Brooke House College, Gresham’s school St. Michael’s college, etc.

For the first time, Darbi College was presented at the Open Doors fair. Darbi College is the first English school in Bulgaria, offering A Level programme.

The Open Doors fair for Education Abroad" is held twice a year and all those who for one reason or another missed the first edition of this academic year may attend the next exhibition which will take place on 26 and 27 January 2008. and will gather under one roof a number of schools worldwide offering language courses abroad, secondary education and a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs.
